Trevor & Leslie get married!

I had the pleasure of shooting Trevor & Leslie's wedding recently. You may remember seeing their e-session posted here on the blog a few months ago. One of my favorite reasons for shooting engagement sessions is that by the time the wedding rolls around I feel like I know the couple a little bit, and after getting a little peek into their world I can give their wedding photos a little more of a personal feeling. They are such a sweet couple and the wedding was beautiful! It was my first time to shoot a wedding at the Vesica Piscis Chapel in Catoosa, and wow...that place has BEAUTIFUL light! Here's a sneak peek of their wedding photos.

Vacation pics

Here are a couple of pretty photos that I took in San Antonio. I would have loved to take my "big" camera, but I'm always terrified of breaking it or getting it stolen, so I took these with my little Samsung point and shoot. I love the photo of the Alamo. I took it while we were standing in line in the morning waiting for it to open for the day. I love the way I got the sun to flare, and I tried to make it look kind of gritty and aged. I think it turned out pretty cool! I love playing with photos in post-processing. I also tried a kind of painter effect with the koi...I think it turned out very zen. I also love palm trees so I took tons of photos of them. Since we don't have any in Oklahoma, something about them just makes me so darn happy!

My family photos

I'm finally getting around to posting my family photos from my own session with Nathan Faught from Claremore Photography. Ash really had no interest in taking time away from building Lego creations to pose for family portraits, but Nathan did a great job. Really, our family portrait captures how our family typically operates, and isn't that the best kind of portrait?

I have a new website!

I'm so happy about this. I designed my old website myself, and although it did the job, it just didn't have that much oomph. My new website is full of oomph and was designed by Jean Bauhaus at The Task Wrangler and she did a great job! I love it so much! Go check my new website out right now!

The stars at night are big and bright...

deep in the heart of Texas! And that's where I am this week. So to all my clients, I am on vacation this week...I'm soaking up sun (and getting my pale self sunburnt to a crisp no matter how much spf 50 I slather on!) I'll be checking my email whenever I'm in a location where I can, but you may not hear from me till Saturday. I broke my card reader on the trip down so maybe when I get back home I'll post some pics of the Alamo and palm trees and such. Byeee!

The Faught Family

Last weekend I met with another local photographer and we swapped family portraits. This was a great idea since it's always great to network with other photographers, plus...ask any photographer how hard it is to get a decent portrait of their own family! Today I'm just showing off the portraits I did for Nathan Faught's family. I'll post the ones he did for me in a couple of days.

Cake Balls...YUM!

I've made these on a couple of occasions now and people have been asking me for the recipe, so now instead of writing it down I can just say "go look on my blog for the link." These things are so yummy, I feel the need to share them with the world. Here's a link to the recipe:
